With the popularity of smart sensors and the large-scale application of 5G and smart interconnection technologies, smart home with Internet of everything has become a reality.
Compared with ordinary home products, smart home brings users a faster experience, and along with the increase of consumers” attention to smart home products, the industry has shown a ” blossoming” situation.
Recently, Huawei officially announced that it will officially release the HarmonyOS on June 2, which can cover cell phones and other mobile terminals. The HarmonyOS system, which began planning as early as 2012, was designed at the beginning to “build a smart world of connected things” and has smart home as one of its three major segments.
With the continuous expansion of the Hongmeng ecosystem, the era of intelligent interconnection of everything will accelerate, but from the current situation of smart home, there are still problems of slow network distribution, unified protocols, cumbersome operation steps and other bad experience. In addition, the objective reality that it is difficult for each manufacturer to break the commercial barriers in the short term is also a major pain point for the popularity. While smart connectivity is worthy of expectation, it needs to be viewed rationally.
Build ecology together
In the Android and iOS respectively occupy 68.63% and 30.99% of the global cell phone operating system market share, Huawei Hongmeng to get their own place must have a sufficient number of user base. As a breakthrough, Hongmeng is committed to providing a unified language for the intelligence, interconnection and collaboration of different devices at the beginning of the design, and proposes a distributed concept based on the same set of system capabilities and adapted to multiple terminal forms, supporting a variety of terminal devices such as cell phones, smart wear, PC, smart speakers, etc.
According to Huawei”s Chairman-in-Office Xu Zhijun previously revealed at the Huawei China Ecological Conference, it is expected that by the end of this year, more than 200 million devices equipped with the Hongmeng operating system. At the same time, Huawei”s third-party partners are also fully matching the Hongmeng operating system, including smart home, health, travel, education and other types of terminals will also match the number of more than 100 million units this year.
There is still a long way to go for smart home to truly realize the “Internet of Everything”.
